Leather Shaving and Fleshing Blades

In the absence of locally available quality fleshing and shaving blades, Pakistani leather manufacturers have to opt for imported ones. Whereas NUST indigenously developed this new technology of blades and licensed two Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) to the industry.

The inventor of the IPs, Mr Saheeb Ahmad Kayani belongs to NUST College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Rawalpindi. The  blades were licensed to two industry partners; Shafi Reso Chemical (SRC) Lahore, a leading manufacturer of chemical products, and Siddiq Shafi Group.

These licenses thus ensure the availability of quality indigenous blades at significantly reduced cost, leading to substantial savings in foreign exchange while fostering our national economy.
